Overland Park, KS -- Bleed Media, an Overland Park-based creative marketing and design studio, announced today that it has launched 'The Super Billion Dollar Homepage', an affordable advertising-based website harnassed with the potential to generate large amounts of revenue while greatly increasing it's advertiser's online presence.
"We've always wanted to earn a billion dollars, so we just decided to go for it," Bleed Media Creative Director and Co-Owner Kyle Taylor commented. "If we can combine our creative skills with progressive technology to increase web-traffic for advertisers and make absurd amounts of cash in the process, then count me in!"
The website currently boasts one million pixels of advertising space for sale for the price of one dollar per pixel. The creative duo claims they'll consider selling one billion pixels if they're able sell one million first. Pixels may be purchased in blocks of one hundred, which may then be used to display an advertisment-link to a customer's own website. Advertisers can buy as many blocks as they wish, while supplies last.
"That's why its so affordable. One hundred dollars gets you an advertisement-link to your site," said Brandon Eck, Bleed Media's other owner. "The site had over 44,000 hits in just one day last week. Its really a fantastic, unique alternative to more traditional forms of online marketing."
If you're beginning to think that this site sounds an awful lot like that of British web tycoon Alex Tew's wildly successful and sold-out 'Million Dollar Homepage', then you're probably right, and Bleed Media isn't denying the similarities.
"We like to think of it as a parody," Eck said. "We think Alex Tew is a genius. However, we feel like we've got a solid concept here that compliments his idea while taking it one step further into new and uncharted territory. Think about it. Numbers don't just stop at one million. Why not go for one billion?"
Both Taylor and Eck agree that they've taken a rather silly and sometimes sarcastic approach to the 'The Super Billion Dollar Homepage', but they maintain that its all part of the appeal.
"It's definitely not a joke," Taylor said. "But we are trying to make it fun for our viewers."
